Upcoming volunteer opportunities - Legion volunteers make it happen
The Poppy campaign is looking for volunteers for poppy sales! Sign up sheets are posted on the bulletin board downstairs or you can copy and paste the link below to your internet browser! If you have problems, please let Heather or Brian Reid know.
We need volunteers for Remembrance Day!! Nov. 10th for sandwich making and Nov. 11th to hand out soup and coffee. If you are interested, please email Heather!!
Early Bird Membership - we're now more than 2/3 of the way through!!
Early Bird Membership is now available. Membership renewal is $54 for Ordinary members and 65 plus (an Ordinary member is generally a veteran and is someone who has served in the military or the RCMP). For all other members renewal is $64. Be sure to renew your membership by Nov. 30th to be entered in the draw for a chance to win $500.00 or a free membership for a year!

BC Lions Playoff Tickets
The BC Lions organization is offering local Legion branches in their community a discounted rate for BC Lions playoff tickets this Saturday, the 31st against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Game is Sat. Oct. 31. 1:30pm Kick-off.
Vancouver Canucks Remembrance Day Game
The Vancouver Canucks are hosting their second annual Remembrance Day game at Rogers arena this coming Monday, November 9th at 7:30pm. They are offering complimentary tickets to members of local Legion branches as they come together to honour those who have served and continue to serve. If you are interested in tickets, please email me (first come, first served). We have 36 tickets and I will need to transfer them to your ticketmaster account.

The next Bingo Night will be Thursday, November 5th from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Card sales begin at 5:30 PM.
The kitchen is open until 7:00 p.m. to accommodate all who would like to have something to eat before the start of Bingo!

Every 2nd Thursday of each month except July and August. All members are welcome. If you would like to learn more about what the Legion does please join us.

PTSD & Chronic Pain Study
With the support from BC/Yukon Command, many BC legions and the NAVALIS Foundation, the Legion Veterans Village Research Foundation is now recruiting for its first clinical trial supporting CAF and RCMP veterans suffering from both PTSD & Chronic Pain. The study will test the efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in treating these conditions over five consecutive days in Surrey, BC. Honour House will provide housing for those outside the Lower Mainland as space permits.

The Legion Veteran Welcome Program
Supporting Canadian Veterans with a FREE one-year Legion Membership. Currently serving or retired CAF and RCMP members who have not yet joined are eligible to receive their free first year of membership with the Legion. South Delta Meals on Wheels
South Delta Meals on Wheels is a non-profit charity that delivers fresh meals to your residence Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The cost is $8.50 per meal. Their drivers often provide social contact for persons who may live alone. They provide service to Ladner and Tsawwassen. The food is made by Kin Village kitchen. Please contact Deltassist to inquire how you might receive their services. Their number is 604-946-9526.
