The Royal Canadian Legion of Canada is celebrating it's 100th Anniversary in 2026
July 25th from Noon until 4:00 PM. There will be a few speeches, the Delta Police Pipe Band will perform, live music from 1:00 until 3:45 PM, hamburgers and hot dogs by donation. Local groups will have table displays setup. Lots of fun for adults and kids. Come help us celebrate 100 years of service, community and remembrance!
We are looking for volunteers who would like to help with setup and takedown. A signup sheet will be posted on the board at the Legion in the near future.
Royal Canadian Legion 100th Anniversary Swag

If you are unable to get into the Legion to sign up, feel free to email Heather at rcl61@telus.net and she will do it for you! ***You must supply your Serving It Right certificate to be able to serve beer, cider & wine. If you don't have a certificate and would like to get one, we will reimburse you the cost.***
8-Ball Singles Championships
June 27th at the Whalley Legion. It is open to all legion members who wish to play, not just Branch reps going forward to Zone, Provincials and Dominion levels. This is being held because they lack a singles champion to represent them at Provincials, unlike in other Legion Sports.
Registration at Whalley will begin at 9:00 a.m., and play will begin at 9:30 a.m. The entry fee is $20, there will be a cash payout and trophies for first and second place.
52nd Annual Legion Provincial Golf Tournament
It will be held July 6th at the Guildford Golf & Country Club. Entry fee is $150.00, entry deadline is June 28th.

BINGO!!!!
Thursday's, 7 - 9 pm, card sales start at 5:30. The kitchen is open until 7:00 p.m. to accommodate all who would like to have something to eat before the start of Bingo!
**For the month of May, bingo will be cancelled on the 14th and 28th**
**A reminder that in line with our liquor license, we cannot allow any outside beverages (water bottles, coffee etc)**
Food and Beer Prices
Effective April 8th the Legion implemented a slightly different menu with a few small price increases to keep up with rising food costs. We will also increase beer prices by 25 cents across the board. We appreciate your business and thank you for your understanding.
Happy Hour
Effective April 11th, we will no longer offer a Happy Hour Food menu on Saturdays.

Bursaries
Branch #61 offers 4, $1,500 bursaries for post-secondary education programs to students from Ladner and North Delta (Tsawwassen is covered by Branch 289). Application forms are available at DSS, all North Delta Secondary schools and at the Branch. Applications must be submitted by April 30th 2026.!
PTSD & Chronic Pain Study
With the support from BC/Yukon Command, many BC legions and the NAVALIS Foundation, the Legion Veterans Village Research Foundation is now recruiting for its first clinical trial supporting CAF and RCMP veterans suffering from both PTSD & Chronic Pain. The study will test the efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in treating these conditions over five consecutive days in Surrey, BC. Honour House will provide housing for those outside the Lower Mainland as space permits.

Legion General Meetings
Every 2nd Thursday of each month except July and August. All members are welcome. If you would like to learn more about what the Legion does please join us. A reminder: there will be a vote on the motion regarding the annual fees increase.

Darts Playdowns
Playdowns for Darts is Jan. 27th, starts at 6:30 sharp. Dart players need to be available for Feb 7th (in Tsawwassen), March 27-29 (travelling to Nanaimo)and May 1-4 (travelling to Cochrane, AB). If we make it through each level there are no substitutions permitted.
Mondays at the Legion
Effective January 5th, the Legion will be open from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Mondays with no kitchen. Members are welcome to bring in food if they would like.
The Legion Veteran Welcome Program
Supporting Canadian Veterans with a FREE one-year Legion Membership. Currently serving or retired CAF and RCMP members who have not yet joined are eligible to receive their free first year of membership with the Legion. Effective immediately preordering of dinner specials will no longer be accepted. You must be present in the Legion to order dinner.
South Delta Meals on Wheels
South Delta Meals on Wheels is a non-profit charity that delivers fresh meals to your residence Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The cost is $8.50 per meal. Their drivers often provide social contact for persons who may live alone. They provide service to Ladner and Tsawwassen. The food is made by Kin Village kitchen. Please contact Deltassist to inquire how you might receive their services. Their number is 604-946-9526.
